Texting sa Pinas
Friday, February 22nd, 2008Just got back from the Motherland and the most obvious thing I have noticed when I was there were the peeps using their cellphones to text each other. I was in a Starbucks and almost everyone who was hanging around the shop was texting somebody. My nieces and nephews have their cellphones hanging around their necks. What’s annoying is when you’re talking to someone and their texting while having a conversation with you. Sobrang dog leash yun ah. There was an incident where we were convoying to Laguna, tapos text ng text yung bawat car until one phone lost its load minutes. What an inconvenience and eventually nawala sa convoy yung isang car (nakapuntang Batangas). First of all, if peeps are saying that texting is cheaper than having to talk on the phone then they’re wasting a lot of time and I’m sure also money dahil minsan yung mga tinetext nila hindi maintindihan and you have to text again hanggang sa mawalan ka ng load and you have to load again. Sabi ko nga sa pamangkin ko why don’t you just call the person kaysa sa text kasi it’s such a waste of time typing the darn message and tapos namimisunderstood pa yung message dahil hindi mo alam ang tono ng message. Ay naku!
I was watching a filipino tv show in boracay and people were texting messages to the host and the host was supposed to read the messages on the air. Well the host couldn’t read much of the texts because ang daming acronyms and abbreviations that people were using. Eventually, the host had to tell her viewers to text properly dahil hindi niya mabasa yung mga words para daw Chinese hehehe.
Just thought I’d share my observation…toodles!
